OTTO is „Official Footing Suplier“ of 2010 Games |

 OTTO Sport- und Reitplatz GmbH is now „Official Footing Supplier of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ that are going to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY (USA) from September 25 to October 10, 2010. The Bavarian family-run company and the World Games 2010 Foundation, Inc. have signed an official agreement that allows OTTO Sport to use this designation.

Not only the surfaces on the new Outdoor Stadium arenas and the adjacent warm-up rings were installed by the German arena specialists. 70 percent of all Kentucky Horse Park arenas are now equipped with an OTTO Sport surface; this is equivalent to an area of approx. 355,000 sq ft.

Company founder Werner Otto is very happy to hear that the arenas have received rave reviews. „It’s the best vaulting footing in the world“, commented 2006 WEG Vaulting Gold Medallist Megan Benjamin. Also Hugh Kincannon, Kentucky Horse shows LLC manager, is obviously very satisfied about the arenas.
Especially the outstanding drainage features of the OTTO Sport system are convincing for him: Even heaviest rain activity could not damage the footing. While other venues had to stop their shows due to bad weather conditions, the shows on the OTTO Sport surfaces could be continued without any problems.

The secret behind the arenas is a complete solution, consisting of the patented OTTO Perforated Mats and the meticulously blended footing mixture. Besides high water permeability, outstanding concussion absorption and non-slip properties are special features of the system. In this way, ligaments and tendons of the horses are protected to a high extent.
