By installing a new state-of-the-art footing on the 130,000 square-feet arena and the adjacent 40,000 square-feet warm-up area, OTTO Sport has given its contribution to ensure safety of horses and riders that will compete on the facilities in several equestrian disciplines. The Riding Arena Mats set underneath the sandy surface provide elasticity and therefore protect horses’ joints and ligaments. Furthermore, water can drain off quickly so the arena can be used even after persistent precipitation. |

In total, the German family-run company has installed about 355,000 square metres of the special equestrian surface system on the Kentucky Horse Park arenas. “We are very proud and happy to assist Kentucky Horse Park in becoming one of the most important equestrian venues of the world”, states Christian Bauer, the Sales Director for OTTO. The footing has already passed several performance tests successfully and was part of the praise of several riders for the new stadium. During the opening ceremony, Governor Beshear had promised that his administration would work to ensure that Kentucky remained “Horse Capital of the World”, and OTTO Sport tries to assist in achieving this goal with providing an outstanding footing for the 2010 Games and all other competitions that will take place on the Kentucky Horse Park arenas |
