 The OTTO Riding Surface is one of the big winners of the Mediterranean Games in Pescara, Italy. “This is one of the best riding facilities in the world that I have ever seen”, commented team manager Thierry Pomel of France after his riders had won the team jumping competition.
In total, the German surface specialists had installed 4,500 square metres of their riding mat system on the riding facility “Area Teaterno” in Chieti.
During the competition, maintenance of the arena was accurately observed by OTTO Sport in order to ensure an optimal surface quality at any time. Professional information on arena construction was given at the OTTO booth: Company founder Werner Otto personally was present in order to consult interested visitors.
The competition arena in Chieti is constructed according to a tried and tested system: Underneath the sand surface, the separating layer is made up of elastic and water-permeable OTTO Perforated Mats. Upon the mats, a special footing composed of sand and the high-class geo-textile mixture OTTO-ArenaTex is set. In near future the surface can prove its qualities again as plans are already underway to arrange the next big equestrian competition.
